Heidi Hoven

National Audubon Society
Assistant Gillmor Sanctuary Manager
Kamas, UT
Heidi Hoven is a wetland ecologist and plant scientist who has conducted research and monitoring programs in wetlands of Great Salt Lake for the last 18 years. She consulted for large wetland restoration planning and monitoring projects with KUCC/Rio Tinto, UDOT, DWQ and Salt Lake City while at SWCA for 7 years; directed major wetland research and planning projects for DWQ, UGS, the LDS Church and collaborated with academics from UofU, USU, and UVU as the founder of a nonprofit research institute and consultant for 10 years. Her work largely focused on understanding the effects of environmental stressors on wetland habitats of the heavily manipulated and managed system of Great Salt Lake and brings that background to Audubon as the Assistant Manager of Gillmor Sanctuary.
